1914 Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate, designed by Th. Larsen, is titled The Royal Palace, Amalienborg Bing & Grondahl's Christmas plate from 1914 depicts the home of the Danish Royal Family, Amalienborg. Around 1750 King Frederik V gave the land where Amalienborg is situated to four relatives, to build Amalienborg. The only condition was that the four palaces were almost identical. After Christiansborg palace, the home of King Christian V, burnt in 1794, the king bought the four palaces, and Amalienborg has since then been the home of the Danish Royal family.
