1943 Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate, designed by Ove Larsen, is titled The Ribe Cathedral. Bing & Grondahl's Christmas plate from 1943 depicts Ribe cathedral. During the Viking age, Ribe was an important town in Denmark. As early as the year 850 Ansgar built a church in the place where Ribe chathedral is situated now. The cathedral, as it appears today, is the best preserved romanesque Cathedral in Scandinavia.
