Arabia Christmas plate 1980 is an atmospheric Finnish Christmas plate, where the winter landscape unfolds in a calm and narrative motif. On the snow-covered surface, small houses, a church, a windmill and a lighthouse can be seen, while people are occupied with the tasks of winter around the landscape. The motif gives the plate a vivid story and a special Nordic atmosphere, where everyday life, nature and Christmas merge together.

This particular vintage from 1980 belongs to the early Arabia Christmas plates in the series, which began in 1978. That makes it interesting for collectors, but also for you who are fond of Finnish design and old Christmas motifs with calm, details and historical character. The blue-grey decoration against the light base emphasizes the winter feeling, and the hand-painted gold decoration can be seen both along the edge and in selected details in the motif, where it creates fine highlights.

The plate is designed by Raija Uosikkinon and bears the characteristic Arabia expression, where storytelling and form go hand in hand. The robust stoneware gives the Christmas plate a substantial body, which not only makes it suitable as wall decoration, but also as a plate for serving. With its diameter of 23 cm, it works well, for example, as a lunch plate or for a small serving during the Christmas season, where the motif can help create extra atmosphere on the table.

As this Arabia Christmas plate is from 1980, it has holes on the back for hanging and can therefore also be hung up as part of the Christmas decorations or as wintry wall decoration all year round. Our specimen comes from an old remaining stock of Arabia Christmas plates and is unused. This is a particular advantage when looking for older Christmas plates in excellent condition. Many of the plates from this remaining stock are still in their original Arabia boxes.
